SILENCE
“Nothing resembles the language of God so much as does silence.”
Meister Eckhard wrote those words. What do they mean? Among other things, they speak of a deep mystery.

TELSTRA PROTEST IN BILAMBIL VALLEY
The TELSTRA petition collected in the BILAMBIL VALLEY
THIS IS THE PETITION WE PUT IN THE BILAMBIL VILLAGE POST OFFICE STORE.
SIGN THIS PETITION
TELSTRA : GIVE US BACK OUR PHONES.
WE,The undersigned, as residents and telephone subscribers in the Bilambil Valley, hereby state what we are completely dissatisfied with the quality of our landline telephone access and associated services. We also wish it to be known that the responses and interim alternatives we’ve been offered to this point by Telstra are unsatisfactory. We want our lines fixed.
So this is what we put in the shop and lo and behold within a week or three we had more than 100 names in this small community. Was this enough to receive responses from Telstra or anyone else ? NO !!!!!!!
Here are some of the Comments people have made. Keep in mind that None of these were solicited. No coercion was used. The forms were simply put on the shop counter and in came the complaints which people had been struggling with in isolation for months. Each time I have made contact – Telstra has smooth talked and told me it was AN ISOLATED CASE.

AUCHENSHUGGLE IN FEBRUARY
IN THE Shuggle for 4 days, Only a few more weeks and then this is done. Then I am going to live with a fulltime PhD student and do research. Today it seems the rain is actually taking a break. Crisp and clear and fresh. All manner of birds come to the garden now. The wet summer has brought new life apparently.
Mornings I go down and kick the engine over wile Izzy hits the starter motor with a hammer and stick. To go off to UQ. We will be able to live together in 4-5 weeks. Next week we go south to Kate and IMM in Kalang and then I go over the mountains to TheKids in Armidale. 2 weeks away is not what I really like but I am malnourished in the area of family contact so off I go. Mebbe one of them will know how to fix the iBookG4 Mac which freezes midstream all the time.
Beryl Mortimer is up and about in her garden and one loud crw is dominating on the front wire. I have a Premier coach ticket on which to get a refund. Mebbe I will mail it in and get the cheque refund after all. Or go to Roma Street and get cash at the counter. Best do that today en route to UQ this afternoon.
Been researching MELINDA KENDALL all week till my mind is lost someplace in the 19th Century and muddled at that. Today I shall begin on My own long lost family which is now making more sense to me. I remain proud of the Grandmother Hannah Hitchens who was described as A LOOSE WOMAN – on a convict ship. One of only 6 to be so described on the ship -BROTHERS- 1823-24. Go for it grandma. Then she went to live with Thomas Benson – Grandfather – equally dodgy – in Sussex Street – right near where Melinda and Basil met in 1835.
WEEKENDS
TWO TOUGH AND CRAZY PEOPLE GET
TOGETHER AND CONSIDER THINGS.
THEY CONTEMPLATE.

Then they pay attention to the considerings of the
rest of the world.
No contempt prior to investigation here.

“Any significant long-term change requires long-term practice, whether that
change has to do with playing the violin or learning to be a more open,
loving person. We all know people who say that they have been permanently
changed by experiences of a moment or a day or a weekend. But when you
check it out you’ll generally discover that those who ended up permanently
changed had spent considerable time preparing for their life-changing
experience or had continued diligently practicing the new behavior afterward.”

Better days are coming – they are called Saturday and Sunday.
A COUPLE OF DAYS IN BRISBANE
Aha ! thinks I . They’ve moved into the 21st century and upped it to a bus a day. Not likely. They now go up the mountain only 2 days a week. Monday and Thursday and Back down the mountain Tuesday and Friday. That put the kibbosh on my plans entirely. Flummoxed I were. Flummoxed.
I got the other two tickets in at Roma Street after buying another RESMED laptop bag from COBBLERS TWO in the city. $5. Great buy. We have one now for each of the laptops. Then I tackled the Roma Street 3rd floor where the coaches come in. Tackled Greyhound first up. I had fixed it in my head that the ticket from Urunga to Byron was $42 so was a wee bit surprised when the lass told me it was $72. Leave it – says I . Leave it. I wandered along the 3rd floor and reached the Kirklands Counter – Kirklands and Premier. THEY DID HAVE A SEAT FOR $42. Well done Premier and thumbs down to you Greyhound.
Then down to the Ground Floor and Countrylink train tickets through QR – Queensland Rail. Top service. 3 really helpful QR people. Confused though they were by the $2.50 Country Pensioner Excursion code but they persevered with Brisbane good spirits and All seemed to be going well until the Shuggle and the Keans Coach call.
No matter now. Izzy is going to take me down in the Starwagon on March 4th. Then we will see about Armidale. So tonight is full moon and solar eclipse and just a splendid hammock hung night on the Hill.

FEBRUARY 14 08 VALENTINES DAY
‘When you love you should not say, “God is in my heart,” but rather, “I am in the heart of God.” And think not you can direct the course of love, if it finds you worthy, it directs your course.’ GIBRAN.
Morning here in Bilambil . Autumn like already In the Summer of Rain. Across the Paddock there is one cow lowing. Not so bad as on the weekends when they seem distressed in the extreme. Im trying to decide whether or not to keep the Telstra phone on. Wondering also how to put links on this site and it looks like another hidden trap necessitating paid for upgrades. Nevertheless it is morning in Bilambil. Water dripping from the roof. Cool breeze coming up from the Dell down the back. Washing machine burring along. I have a Valentine this year. There’s something for you at 58. That means a Valentines email due to us both being computer fixated and glad to move in a world where the fingertip accesses many , many things in a Vodafone instant. Izzy sings a song called I LOVE YOU BABY BUT YOU AIN’T HERE AND SHE IS. Catches my attention it does. Well he ain’t here today but its OK and he will be here this weekend. With its being Valentine’s Day I had best consider the Matters of the Heart .
